Driven by her desire to see people live life wholly, healthy and free, and with a special heart towards the empowerment of women and children, Mrs. DesLandes founded the Institute of Self-Discovery (ISD).  Her motto is that if women can get past all of the unhealthy beliefs and ideals that have served to hold them back, such as trying to be perfect and believing that who they are is not good enough, they can discover who they truly are and position themselves to create a life that they truly desire.  That is why she doesn't mind sharing the 'pearls of wisdom' she has learned along her own journey towards a life of freedom.

 

Personally and professionally, the focal point of all she does is inspired by a desire to see others grow their wings and fly.  She is a certified trainer in the areas of diversity, women's issues and wellness for women, as well as a certified life coach through the Professional Woman Network (protrain.net).  She received her certification in human resource management through Columbia Southern University.  She is also a certified trainer through Langevin Learning Services Train-the Trainer for professional development.  She has worked in the public sector for over 20 years.  For the past ten years, she has worked in the Human Resources Division; first as an Employee Development & Training Specialist, and currently as a Strategic Staffing Recruiter.

 

An avid reader herself, Mrs. DesLandes has co-authored four book projects for the internationally recognized Professional Woman Network Library, a highly sought after empowerment series for women and youth.  They are titled 'Self-Esteem & Empowerment for Women', 'The Christian Woman's Guide for Personal Success', 'Beyond the Body:  Developing Inner Beauty' and 'Raising African American Boys'.  She has been a contributing writer to the Today's Leading Ladies Quarterly Woman's Journal, Article Alley and Ezine Articles.  She also published a work of fiction through Jonee Publishing Company, titled 'All Roads Lead Home', released in 2008. 

 

A strong believer in the bond of sisterhood, Mrs. DesLandes is the Chapter Director of the Sister Network International Association's NJ chapter, a support group for professional women, which meets on a monthly basis in New Jersey.

 

A native of New Jersey, Mrs. DesLandes currently resides with her husband, Steven and their children in Pennsylvania.
